Booster Coils

A booster coil is similar to a hot water coil but is designed without a header. Intended for supplemental heating applications, a typical booster coil consists of tubes passing through sheets of formed fins, with the fins mechanically bonded to the tubes through tube expansion to maximize heat transfer. Our replacement booster coils are available in a variety of casing configurations to accommodate different installation requirements, including fully flanged, slip and drive, or end plates only.

What is a Booster Coil?

A booster coil is a heating coil installed in an HVAC system to provide additional heat when the primary heating system cannot deliver enough warmth. It raises the temperature of air moving through the system before that air is supplied to the conditioned space. Booster coils are commonly used to increase heating capacity, maintain required discharge-air temperatures and provide supplemental heat during colder conditions.
